Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins, such as Botox & Dysport, are injectable treatments that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Commonly used in areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet, they help create a smoother, more refreshed look. Treatments are quick, minimally invasive, and require little to no downtime. Results typically appear within a few days and can last about 3–4 months.
Time
A typical neurotoxin appointment, such as with Botox or Dysport, usually takes 15 to 30 minutes.
The injections themselves often take just 5 to 10 minutes, while additional time is used for consultation, facial assessment, and post-treatment instructions. Because the appointment is quick and requires little downtime, neurotoxin treatments are often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure.”
Expect little to no social downtime.
Targets
Neurotoxins such as Botox & Dysport target dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial muscle movement. These treatments temporarily relax specific muscles to smooth fine lines and prevent deeper wrinkles from forming.
Neurotoxins commonly target:
* Forehead lines, Frown lines (11 lines between the brows), Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes), Bunny lines (nose wrinkles), Lip lines and gummy smile, Chin dimpling, Jawline slimming and masseter muscles, & Neck bands (platysmal bands)
Neurotoxins can also be used for preventative aging, helping slow the formation of deeper wrinkles over time.
How Often
Neurotoxin treatments such as Botox & Dysport are typically recommended every 3 to 4 months to maintain optimal results.
Most clients begin to notice results within a few days, with full effects appearing around 10 to 14 days and gradually wearing off over several months. Some individuals may metabolize neurotoxins faster or slower, so treatment timing can vary slightly. Your provider will recommend a personalized schedule based on your muscle movement, treatment areas, and aesthetic goals.
