Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are advanced skin treatments that use carefully selected acids to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin, revealing a smoother, brighter complexion underneath. At Lunè Medical Spa, our peels are customized to target concerns such as acne, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and uneven texture. Depending on the strength of the peel, downtime can range from little to a few days of light peeling. The result is refreshed, healthier-looking skin with improved tone and clarity.

Time

A chemical peel appointment typically takes 30–45 minutes depending on the type and depth of the peel being performed. This includes cleansing the skin, preparing the treatment area, applying the peel solution, and post-treatment care instructions. The actual peel application usually takes about 10–20 minutes, while lighter peels may be completed more quickly and deeper peels may require additional time for monitoring and neutralization. Most chemical peels are performed in-office and allow patients to return to their normal activities the same day, although peeling and skin sensitivity may occur in the days following treatment.

Targets

Chemical peels target skin texture, tone, and overall skin rejuvenation by removing damaged outer layers of skin and stimulating new cell turnover. This process helps improve a variety of common skin concerns, including fine lines, sun damage, acne, and uneven pigmentation. As the skin renews itself, patients often notice smoother, brighter, and more even-looking skin.

Chemical peels are commonly used to treat concerns such as acne and acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, melasma, fine lines, and rough or dull skin texture. They can also help improve clogged pores and overall skin clarity. Depending on the strength of the peel, treatments can be customized to address mild skin refreshment or more advanced skin concerns for deeper rejuvenation.

How Often

Chemical peels are typically performed every 4–6 weeks, depending on the type of peel and your skin goals. Lighter, superficial peels can be done more frequently to maintain skin brightness, improve texture, and address mild concerns like dullness or acne. Medium-depth peels may be recommended less frequently, often as part of a series of 3–4 treatments spaced several weeks apart for optimal results.

Once your desired results are achieved, many patients choose maintenance treatments every 1–3 months to keep skin smooth, clear, and refreshed. Your provider may adjust your treatment schedule based on your skin type, concerns, and whether you are combining chemical peels with other treatments.
